Congrats to D70 Groundskeeper Victor Flores

Congrats to Victor Flores who was recently honored for his dedicated work in groundkeeping at the third annual Lake County Regional Office of Education Teacher of the Year celebration.

The event, which honors support staff, teachers, and administrators for their outstanding work, offers nine categories for recognition, including maintenance and custodians, including the star award of Educator of the Year.

"Victor is the most positive and pleasant worker that I have worked with in over 10 years in my position," noted his boss, Peadar Hurley, who nominated Mr. Flores. Asst. Supt. of Facilities and Operations Stacey Bachar (left to right in the photo), Hurley, Flores, and Supt. Jenkins all attended the celebration.

The recognition noted: Victor is the lead groundsman at Libertyville School District 70. He takes care of all 60-plus acres of our grounds. Victor never misses work and faces every day with great gusto! The improvement to our grounds since Victor started in this position just 2 years ago has been unbelievable. He has great ideas and is great at solving daily problems.
