On behalf of my faculty and staff, I wish to welcome you to Adler Park Elementary School in Libertyville School District 70!

Adler is a special place that proudly supports 233 students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. Additionally, Adler is home to a highly skilled and deeply dedicated team of faculty and staff who work tirelessly to make sure that our students feel healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

Strong community and parental involvements are key components to Adler Park’s success and positive school culture. The Adler Family Association (AFA) finds ways to celebrate our students and staff each year–some of their hallmark celebrations include the AFA Picnic, AFA Shop Around Town, and the AFA Carnival.

Programs of note at Adler include our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS), which encourages students to live by the “Gator Way” and our Multiple Tier Support System (MTSS). Adler students are busy inside and outside of the classroom. Students can participate in many clubs and activities to further enrich their academic experience. Some clubs of note include: Lego Club, Maker Club, Art Club, Student Council, basketball, and cheerleading. We also have an active arts program, with chorus, orchestra, and band. The Adler school environment fosters a positive mindset that encourages creativity, confidence, and kindness towards others.

I am a firm believer in the importance of building strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. parents. This will be my number one priority at Adler. As principal, I am highly committed to working with our families to foster the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic growth of the children with whom we work. Together, we make Adler a wonderful place for students to grow and learn.

Adler Park School is a family of learners that opened its doors in 1959. In 1975, a learning center was added. But due to declining enrollment, the school was closed in 1980. Seven years later, the Libertyville population grew and Adler Park reopened as a kindergarten through third grade building.

Over time, the population grew more, and fourth and fifth grades were added. Additions also were made to include four new classrooms on the north end and two classrooms on the east side. By 1991, a new learning center and two classrooms were added. Then in 2008, a new front entrance was added to Adler Park to improve security and expand the front office and nurse's office.

A bus turnaround was added behind the school in 2011 and the playground was completely renovated in 2015. All of the additions reflect District 70's commitment to meeting the needs of its students.

About 233 students make up the population of learners at Adler Park School, the smallest school in District 70, in the 2024-25 school year. There are two or three sections of students in full-day kindergarten through fifth grade. Almost all students are bussed to Adler Park School as the building is located on bustling Milwaukee Avenue. Students are thrilled to see the school mascot, Sporty the gator, at school events, leading them in cheers. Sporty represents the spirit of family and learning in our school.

The Adler Family Association (AFA) is an amazing group of parents who support our students, staff, and other parents. The events and projects they fund support Adler's unique family approach to learning. The events they sponsor include the Gator Gallop Race, Winter Carnival, Halloween and Valentine's parties, the fifth grade class gift, and our end of the year celebration, Field Day. The efforts of the Adler Family Association go above and beyond and help make Adler a very special place.

We are fortunate enough to have wonderful businesses supporting District 70 schools in the D70 Foundation for Excellence, a parent-run group that supports the schools. It works districtwide, as compared to the Adler Family Association that focuses only on Adler Park School. One of the Foundation's programs is mini-grants that funds new education endeavors created by teachers throughout D70. The staff, students, and parents of Adler Park School know that education is a partnership. This partnership focuses on educating children to reach their fullest potential. Students are taught to be effective problem solvers and to be life-long learners.

Our School Improvement Plan is reviewed yearly by a committee of dedicated Adler staff members. The plan is a response to data we have gathered through benchmarking, standardized assessments, and surveys (like the 5 Essentials). From this data, our goals are created to increase student achievement, improve the social and emotional development of our students, and continue to see growth in all our students. This is all part of our dedication to ensuring that Adler students experience learning that prepares them to live and work in the 21st century.

Our school colors are green and white. We have many events where all our students are encouraged to wear school colors and spirit wear.

As Adler Park School grows and evolves, we have always strived to teach our students that the future has no limits for them.
